Youth held with pistol

The Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a young man with a pistol, one bullet and two bottles of foreign made liquor from Rajarhat area on Jessore-Khulna highway in the district on Tuesday night. The arrestee is Hannan Miah, 34, son of late Ansar Miah of Kafrikhan village in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district. Masud Rana, assistant sub-inspector of Jessore DB police, said tipped off, the law enforcers conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a Dhaka-bound private car around 11:30pm. They arrested Hannan with the pistol and bullet from there.
