Youth hacked to death

A youth was hacked to death allegedly by his rivals over a disputed land at Alinagar village in Beanibazar upazila of the district yesterday. 

The deceased was Mahtab Uddin, 22, son of late Mokhon Ali of the village. 

Police said a gang attacked Mahtab with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured when he was returning home in the morning.

Mahtab was rushed to a hospital where he died, said Juber Ahmed, OC of Beanibazar Police Station. 

Police arrested Rubel Talukder, Sumon Talukder, Rajon Talukder and some others in this connection, he said.
