Yaba peddler jailed

A mobile court yesterday jailed a man for one month for peddling Yaba tablets in Manikganj. The mobile court led by Manikganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Shahadat Khandaker gave month's jail to Hossain Ali, 55, son of Gopal Sheikh of Kalibari area of Manikganj town and sent him to Manikganj district jail. Earlier, a team of Narcotic Control Directorate arrested Hossain with 20 pieces of Yaba tablets from behind the Manikganj Government Women's College and taken to the UNO office, said Md Saiful Islam, inspector of Narcotic Control Directorate in Manikganj. Hossain has been peddling Yaba tablets in deferent areas of the district for long, he said.
