Two murdered in Sirajganj

A handloom worker and an auto-rickshaw driver were killed in Belkuchi and Raiganj upazilas of Sirajganj district on Monday.

The deceased are weaver Md Rahel Hossain, 28, son of Shukur Ali of Chandanaganti Pashchimpara village in Belkuchi, and auto-rickshaw driver Ronju Hossain, 35, son of Ishhaque Hossain of Nijhuri area in Raiganj upazila.

The weaver went out of his house on Sunday night and did not return home since then.

The following day, he was found dead at a paddy field near the house.

Criminals hacked him to death and dumped the body in the area, said police.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of Ronju from Nijhuri area in Raiganj upazila on Monday morning.

A gang strangled Ronju and dumped the body in the area, said OC Md Rashedul Islam of Raiganj Police Station, adding that a case was filed in this connection.
