Two held with arms

Two people were held with arms and bullets in Jhenidah and Manikganj districts yesterday.

Police arrested a man with a pipe gun and two bullets at Krishnapur village in Shailakupa upazila of Jhenidah early yesterday.

The arrestee is Hanif Mandol, 45, son of Mohammad Ali Mandol of the village, reports our correspondent.

On secret information, a police team raided Hanif's house and arrested him with the firearm and bullets.

He was accused in several cases, including one for murder, said Shailakupa police.

Away in Manikganj, members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a man with a revolver and four bullets from Dhusar-Kalibari village in Shivalaya upazila of the district the same day.

The arrestee is Afsar Ali Bepari, 50, son of late Poran Bepari of Baghutia village in Daulatpur upazila, reports our correspondent.
