Two fugitive convicts held

Police arrested two fugitive convicts in a rape case at Nuruil village in Sadar upazila early yesterday. The arrestees are Sirajul Islam, 45, son of late Khaleque Munshi, and Bakkar alias Bokta , 40, son of late Sanaullah of the village. In 1997, the two raped a schoolgirl in the area and fled the scene. Later, a rape case was filed with a court in the district. In 2013, the court sentenced them to 39 years' imprisonment in the case, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Gaziur Rahman.
