Two Appellate Division benches to operate virtually: Chief Justice

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has constituted two separate benches of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court for virtually hearing and disposing of cases.

The benches will start functioning from tomorrow (Sunday) as one bench of the apex court had earlier been dealing with the cases for a long period of time.

Of the two Appellate Division benches will be headed by the chief justice and another bench will be led by Justice Muhammad Imman Ali, according to a notification issued by the SC administration on Thursday.

Other judges of the chief justice-led bench are Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, Justice Md Nuruzzaman and Justice Obaidul Hassan.

Other judges of Justice Imman Ali-led bench are Justice Mirza Hussain Haider, Justice Abu Bakar Siddiquee and Justice Tariq ul Hakim.

The notification said the two Appellate Division benches will virtual hold judicial functions through using information technology from 9:30am on September 6 (Sunday) until further notice.
