Two abducted people rescued, one arrested
Two abducted people, including a schoolboy, have been rescued in Mymensingh and Laxmipur districts yesterday and the day before.
Our Mymensingh correspondent reported that the detectives rescued a schoolboy from Gouripur upazila in the district yesterday, two days after his abduction.
They also arrested one Al Amin Rifat, 22, son of Abdul Halim of Achargoan village in Nandail upazila, for his alleged involvement in the abduction.
The victim is third grader Babul Hossain, 9, son of Dulal Uddin of Kuthurar Kanda village in Phulpur upazila. Dulal is an expatriate in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Al Amin was known to Babul. On March 11, he took Babul to a bazar in Kuthurar Kanda area and abducted him, said Ali Ahmed Mollah, officer-in-charge of Phulpur Police Station.
On secret information, police raided a house of Al Amin's relative in Kaltapara area under Gouripur upazila early yesterday and rescued the boy.
They also arrested Al Amin from the spot, said Imarat Hossain Gazi, officer-in-charge of DB, Mymensingh.
Away in Laxmipur, police rescued a man from Khalpar area in Sadar upazila of the district on Saturday, hours after his abduction.
The abductee was identified as Rajib Hossain, reports UNB.
The victim's mother Pervin Akhter said criminals called Rajib out of the house on Friday afternoon and he did not return since then.
On Saturday morning, local people found Rajib lying in the area with his hands and legs tied up and informed the police.
Later, the law enforcers rescued him in an unconscious state and took him to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital.
Police are investigating the incident, said Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Abdullah Al Mamun Bhuiyan.
