Transport leader assaulted

Unidentified criminals assaulted Badal Pramanik, secretary of transport workers' association of Natore, at Kanaikhali in the town yesterday afternoon. Agitated workers blocked the Natore-Dhaka highway in protest for one hour from 4:00pm. Badal Pramanik said the criminals assaulted him mercilessly without any provocation. He demanded arrest of the attackers. Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Natore Police Station, said some unidentified criminals assaulted Badal Pramanik at around 3:00pm. Later, agitated workers blocked the main road, but police rushed to the spot and dispersed them. Police arrested Badal Pramanik, Rajib Hossain and Sohel Rana from the blockade.
