‘Trainer’ among 5 ‘JMB militants’ held in Gazipur

Lawmen today claimed to have arrested five suspected members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) including a trainer of its female branch in Gazipur.

The arrestees are: Rasheduzzaman Rouf, an acting ameer of JMB's southern region and trainer of its female branch, Sahabuddin, Abdul Hai, Firoj and Saiful.

Of them, Rasheduzzaman recently came from Canada, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting Maj Azam, deputy commander of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-1.

The alleged JMB members were arrested from Pashionroad and Hazirpukur areas of Tongi during a raid conducted by the elite force, said Major Azam.

The law enforcers also recovered two pistols, one computer, two magazines, eight bullets, three crude bombs, bomb making materials, 16 knives and two machetes from the spots.
