Teenager stabbed to death in Cumilla

A 16-year-old was stabbed to death in Burichang upazila of Cumilla last night.

Police arrested two suspects -- allegedly involved in the killing of the teenager -- this morning, our Cumilla correspondent reports quoting police.

The deceased was identified as Billal Hossain, of Narayenshar village of the upazila.

Highway police of Mainamoti Crossing Station noticed the body at Kalakachua area beside Dhaka-Chattogram Highway around 11:00pm, said Md Sazzad, in-charge of Debpur Police Outpost.

Later, family members came to the spot and took the body for burial -- thinking the teen was killed in an accident, the police official said.

They called police when they found that the body had several stab injuries in the stomach during the burial process, he said.  

Police recovered the body and sent it to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy, Md Sazzad said.
