Teenager found dead

Police recovered the body of a teenage boy from Tarakanda upazila of the district on Saturday.

The victim, Siam Hossain, 13, son of Mokbul Hossain of Maradeura village in adjacent Phulpur upazila, used drive battery-run auto-rickshaw to support his poor family.

Pedestrians spotted Siam's body lying beside the Tarakanda-Phulpur road in Kakni area around 10:00am and informed local police.

On information, a police team went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy, Officer in Charge of Tarakanda Police Station Abul Khayer said, adding that the victim's body bore several injury marks in different parts including the neck.

The OC said they suspect that criminals might have killed the boy, dumped his body there and took away his vehicle.
