Teen of Bangladeshi origin killed in London
A 17-year-old boy of Bangladeshi origin has been killed allegedly by unidentified miscreants in London, UK.
The deceased, Shanur Ahmed Daiyan, 17, is son of Sharif Ahmed Talukder of Gowalbari village under Juri upazila in Moulvibazar, reports our local correspondent quoting relatives.
He was a student of grade-11 at Newham College in London.
Police recovered the body on Tuesday afternoon and sent it to hospital. Family members were yet to see the body till filing of this report around 9:30pm (Bangladesh time) today.
Relatives at Daiyan's ancestral home in Moulvibazar are mourning his untimely death.
On Monday, Daiyan went to college as usual. On the same day, two groups of students at the college had a fight in which one of Daiyan's friends sustained severe injuries.
Later, he returned home and was about to take his mother to hospital when he received a phone call, with the caller asking him to visit his friend at the hospital near their college.
Daiyan went with some other friends to the hospital and from then he remained missing until police recovered his body after searching in the neighbouring areas.
Primarily, it is assumed that he was killed by miscreants.
"Daiyan was a very meritorious student and peaceful boy. We don't know if he had any enmity with anyone at the college. All of his family members and relatives are aggrieved by his untimely demise," said his paternal uncle Saleh Uddin, also the chairman of East Juri Union Parishad.
