SUST student found dead in Sylhet

Police have recovered the body of a student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) from a mess adjacent to the university at Nayabazar area of Akhalia in Sylhet.

The deceased was identified as Tauhidul Alam Prattay (22), a third-year physics department student, reports our Sylhet correspondent quoting police.

Prattay was from Magura district's Mohammadpur area.

After receiving a 999 call, police recovered his body around 9:00 pm on Monday from room 6 on the the first floor of Shwapnil Super Market, where students had formed a mess, said Mohammad Nazmul Huda Khan, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station.

Police are primarily suspecting a suicide, but the cause of death can only be known after autopsy, the OC also said.

The body has been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, he added.
