Stalker jailed in Pabna

A mobile court sentenced a youth to one year imprisonment on Wednesday on charge of stalking female students in Chatmohar upazila of the district. 

The convict Md Zia Hossain, 20, son of Sanaullah Fakir of Adagram village in Boraigram upazila of Natore, was sent to jail after being sentenced by a mobile court.

Chatmohar Women's College Principal Sharif Mahmud Shanju said teachers and locals caught Zia when he was harassing students of the college on the road near the campus and handed him over to police.

Zia was produced before a mobile court led by Chatmohar Assistant Commisioner (Land) Md Mizanur Rahman the same day that sentenced him to one year's imprisonment and fined him Tk 25 thousand, in default, to suffer three months' more imprisonment, said Officer-in-Charge of Chatmohar Police Station Subrata Kumar.
