Son kills elderly man

A man was killed allegedly by his son at Charbiswas village in Galachipa upazila on Sunday over a family feud.

The deceased, Shahed Ali Kabiraj, 65, was a resident of the village.

Quoting villagers, police said an altercation occurred between Shahed and his elder son Monir Kabiraj, 35, over a family feud.

At one stage, Monir stabbed his father with a kitchen knife, leaving him critically injured.

Family members took Shahed to Galachipa Upazila Health Complex but he died on way to the hospital around 7:00pm.

Protesting the killing, Shahed's younger son Almas Kabiraj, 25, attacked Monir with a machete and hacked him mercilessly. Villagers rescued injured Monir and admitted him to Galachipa Health Complex.
