Sixth grader gang-raped in Dinjapur after abduction; 2 arrested
Police have arrested two persons, including a woman, in connection with a case filed for the rape of a sixth-grader after her abduction in Biral upazila of Dinajpur.
The arrestees were the Liton Hossain (30), son of Bashir Mohammad of Munsipara village in the upazila and Sanu Ara (24), of the same village, our Dinajpur correspondent reports quoting police.
Liton and another Mostafa (28), raped the girl several times at various locations, including in Dhaka between October 3 and 4, when Sanu handed over the girl to the rapists after abducting the victim, said police.
After arresting Liton and Sanu, they were sent to jail by a Dinajpur court today, while police are looking for Mostafa to arrest him, said Abdul Kader, inspector (Investigation) of Biral police station.
According to the family members, Sanu allegedly picked up the girl from Jagatpur village while she was walking to her tuition on October 3.
The father claimed that Sanu handed over her daughter to Mostafa and Liton after telling her that they will manage a job for her (the victim).
The two youths took the girl to a private resort in Biral upazila, and raped her there. Later, the girl was taken to Baipail on the outskirts of Dhaka, where the girl was raped again.
After getting a complaint, police arrested Sanu for interrogation. Later, Sanu also mounted pressure on Liton and Mostafa to return the girl, said the family.
Later, the two youths along with the victim, was brought back home early yesterday (Monday), said the victim father.
Police caught Liton red-handed soon after he got down from the bus, but Mostafa managed to flee the scene, said the OC.
Police sent the victim to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for forensic test, said the OC.
The girl's father filed a case with Biral Police Station accusing three persons, including Sanu, Liton, and Mostafa, last night, OC Abdul Kader added.
