Siblings held on extortion charge

Police arrested two siblings in an extortion case at Buruil village in Nandigram upazila of the district yesterday.

The arrestees are Kanai Ram Chouhan, 35, and Kanchan Ram Chouhan, 32, sons of Ram Narayan Chouhan of the village.

They are charge-sheeted accused in the case, said Hasan Shamim Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Nandigram Police Station.

The two were later produced in a court that sent them to jail, said the OC.
