Siblings among 4 dead in Pabna road accident

Four people were killed and one injured after a truck hit a human hauler in Pabna's Bhangura upazila today.

The deceased were identified as Imran Hossain (14) and his brother Emon Hossain (16); their cousin Summa Khatun (13), and Nupur Begum (28), from the same upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Bhangura Police Station Anwar Hossain said the accident took place when all of them were going to Haatgram to attend a function around 1:30pm.

When they reached Rangalia Tiktikipara, a truck hit their vehicle, leaving Emon, Imran and Summa dead on the spot and two others including Nupur injured, the OC said.

Since Nupur's condition was critical, she was being taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, the OC said adding that she died on the way.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added.

A case was filed in connection with the incident.
