Shopkeeper, schoolboy found murdered

A shopkeeper and a schoolboy were found murdered in Sylhet and Lalmonirhat districts yesterday.

Our Moulvibazar correspondent reported that a missing shopkeeper was hacked to death in Sutarkhal area under Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet district yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Ushman Goni Musha, 19, son of Mantaj Ali of Kandigaon village. 

Police arrested four people for their alleged involvement in killing. They are Rezwan Ahmed, 19, Fakruzzaman, 29, Mukul Malakar, 26, and Nazmul Hasan Faisal of the upazila.

Md Abdul Awal, officer-in-charge of Kanaighat Police Station, said Musha went missing since June 30.

Locals found the body in the area yesterday noon and informed the police.

The law enforcers rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC.

Away in Lalmonirhat, police recovered the body of a schoolboy, who went missing four days ago, from an abandoned building on Hatibandha Upazila Parishad premises in the district the same day, reports our correspondent.

The deceased is Ripon Islam, 12, a student of Class VI of Hatibandha Adarsha High School, and son of Ayub Ali of Singimari village.

Police and family sources said Ripon went out of their home for playing on the upazila parishad premises on June 29 and since then he remained missing.

The victim's father alleged that his rivals kidnapped Ripon and killed him.

Police are trying to find out the reason behind the killing, said Abdul Matin, officer-in-charge of Hatibandha Police Station.
