Shopkeeper dies after being stabbed in broad daylight in Bogura

A shopkeeper died after being stabbed during an argument in Bogura's Rahman Nagar area today.

Rashidul Islam (33), died at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital around 4:00pm, said Rezaul Karim, inspector (investigation) of Sadar Police Station.

The incident occurred around 2:30pm when Rashidul's 14-year-old nephew Shanto and another boy, Asif, got into an argument. Two other boys were also present at the scene.

Shanto's father Basir Uddin (46) intervened and tried to protest when the boys started assaulting his son.

Rashidul went to the scene and tried to intervene when he was stabbed in his lower abdomen. Locals rescued Rashidul and rushed him to the hospital, where he died, said the police official.

Rashidul's body has been sent to family members after completion of the autopsy, the police official said. Police are trying to detain the  attackers. 

No case was filed in this connection at the time this report was filed.
