Sherpur UZ vice-chairman suspended

Arifur Rahman Milon, vice-chairman of Sherpur Upazila Parishad in Bogra, was suspended on Monday as he an accused in the cases for arson, vandalism, and sabotage.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) AKM Sarwar Jahan received the letter issued by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives on Monday night.
Milon, also the joint-convenor of the upazila unit of BNP, is an accused in three cases filed with Sherpur Police Station for arson, vandalism and carrying out subversive activities in the upazila and on Bogra-Dhaka highway in the last two months.
Contacted, the UNO said the ministry has suspended Milon as he has been absconding since filing of the cases with Sherpur Police Station in January and February.
