Seven boys return from Indian jail
Seven Bangladeshi teenage boys returned home through Benapole check post on Monday after languishing in an Indian jail for one and a half years.
India Border Security Force (BSF) personnel handed over the seven to their Bangladeshi counterparts on Monday night.
The returnees are Sadik Hossain, 15, son of Abdul Halim and Abul Hossain, 14, son of Abdur Rashid of Jessore district; Arif Uddin, 14, son of Kabir Uddin and Mafizul Molla, 13, son of Maharaj Molla of Bagerhat district; Rahmat Ali, 14, son of Idris Ali and Jahidul Sheikh, 15, son of Rashid Uddin of Satkhira district and Chandan Kar, 14, son of Anukul Kar of Gopalganj district.
Benapole Port Police handed the teenagers over to their families the same night, Hamid added.
Subedar Abdul Hamid, in-charge of BGB Benapole check post camp under 26 Battalion, said Indian police detained the seven from Alipur in Kolkata for entering the country without valid documents nearly two years back.
