Security forces ready to face any situation on New Year’s Eve: home minister

Mentioning that no security threat has emerged in the country centring New Year celebration tomorrow (December 31) night, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said that security forces are ready to face any situation that may arise.

"If anyone wants to create any untoward situation centring the [December] 31st night, our security forces will not remain inactive. Though there's no intelligence report about any possible threat, we are ready," he said.

Responding to a query of journalists, the minister said this while giving away medals among BGB members at the BGB headquarters today.

Earlier, the minister gave away medals among 59 BGB members in four categories in recognition of their heroic work in 2020.
