Search on in Tampaco amid stench of death

Star Online Report

Stench of the dead weigh heavy in the air around the collapsed Tampaco Foils Limited where a search operation continued today to find remains of the missing people.
Authorities are sure they will find more dead bodies within the rubble, which would take the factory disaster death toll beyond 34, our local correspondent reports.
Some of the dead bodies trapped in the rubble will be taken out soon, said Akhteruzzaman, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defence, this morning.

Forced to wear masks because of the stench, fire fighters this morning searched the grounds and office building at the first floor and could not find any dead bodies.

Up until now, at least 34 people have been confirmed killed, over 35 injured and 10 missing since Tampaco in Gazipur's Tongi caught fire with a huge explosion on September 10.
Authorities have blamed the explosion on a boiler blast. However, boiler inspectors refuse to believe that a boiler explosion could have brought down the big multistoried building.
A survivour has claimed that he could hear gas leaking and smelled its odour on the fateful day.
