Schoolboy found murdered in Pabna

A schoolboy was hacked to death at Char Koshakhali flood protection embankment in the district yesterday morning.

The dead is Md Mizanur Rahman, 12, a Class V student of Shadhupara Government Primary School in the district town, and son of Harunur Rashid of Rajnarayanpur village in Bera upazila under Pabna district.

He lived in his paternal aunt's house at Char Shadhupara in the district town and attended his classes from there.

"Mizan fell in trouble over proposing to a girl of his school. Due to this, we asked his father to take him away from my house two months ago and they later took him back to Rajnarayanpur village," said the victim's aunt Hosne Ara Begum.

"On Friday, Mizan came to the town without informing us and the following day, he was found dead," she said.

Locals found the body at the flood protection embankment in the morning and informed police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue for autopsy.

Criminals might have killed the boy and dumped the body in the area, said police.
