Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant worker dies after piece of wood falls on him

A worker of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant died when a piece of wood fell on him early today.

Deceased Md Selim Hossain Mollah, 48, resident of Rooppur Jigatola village in Pabna's Ishwardi, was a worker at unit 2 of the power plant, our Pabna correspondent reports.

Officer-in-Charge (investigation) of Ishwardi Police Station, Arobindo Sarkar, said a piece of wood fell on Selim's head while he was working at the site.

He died on the spot, the OC said.

Md Ruhul Kuddus, in-charge of the plant's site office, said the incident was just an accident.
