Robbers loot 12 shops

Robbers looted cash and valuables from 12 shops in Biral upazila of the district early yesterday. Locals said a gang of 20 broke the locks of the stores including jewellery and grocery shops at Chhatera village in the upazila around 1:40am after beating the night guard, Md Nur Islam. The robbers took away cash, gold ornaments and other valuables worth about Tk 5 lakh, said Nilu Kanto Roy, a jewellery shop owner of the area.
