Retd teacher murdered in Tangail

A retired schoolteacher was murdered at his house in Mirzapur upazila of the district on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Abu Sayeed alias Nuru Master, 70, of Beltoil Uttarpara village under Asgana union. He was a former teacher of a government primary school.

Police said Sayeed was alone in the house at night as his wife had gone to a relative's house.

The unidentified killers entered the house after cutting the tin wall of Sayeed's room and hit him on his head with a stick.

His wife came to the house in the morning and found the door closed from inside and the tin wall cut. She then entered the room and found her husband's body lying on the floor.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Tangail Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
