The Directorate General of Health Services today curtailed the duration of restriction on movement after evening by two hours.

In an order issued on May 6 signed by DGHS Director General Prof Dr Abul Kalam Azad, it said that from now on no one will be allowed to come out of their residences from 8:00pm to 6:00am, unless there is an emergency.

Earlier, the restriction was from 6:00pm to 6:00am.

"To reduce spread of coronavirus infection, everyone needs to stay at home," the notice read, adding, "the movement from one district to another will be controlled strictly".

It said that "arrival of outsiders to a district or upazila that is free from infection must be controlled strictly and the regular activities should be carried out in a logical manner".

Earlier, the government asked citizens across the country to remain at home from 6:00pm to 6:00am to curb the spread of Covid-19 infection.
