Rapist lands in jail

Police arrested a man on Wednesday evening in a case filed against him on charge of violating a woman in Trishal upazila of the district earlier on the day. Police produced the arrestee, Mohammad Shahjahan, 30, of Naalchira village in the upazila, before a Mymensingh court yesterday that sent him to the jail. Quoting the victim's family members, police said Shahjahan entered the house of the victim, 22, early Wednesday, raped her forcibly and fled the scene. The same afternoon, the victim filed a case accusing Shahjahan.
