Rapist arrested

Police arrested a man on charge of raping a speech impaired schoolgirl at Induil village in Adamdighi upazila of the district early yesterday. The arrestee is Apel Khandakar, 38, son of Aziz Khandakar of the village. Police said Apel raped the fourth grader when she stayed at her house alone on Friday. The victim's mother later filed a case, accusing Apel, said Shawkat Kabir, officer-in-charge of Adamdighi Police Station. The arrestee was produced in a court that sent him to jail, said the OC.
