Physically challenged girl raped

Police arrested a man from Baladanga village in Sadar upazila of Jessore early yesterday on charge of violating a physically challenged girl the day before.

The arrestee, Shanto Sarker 35, is son of Santosh Kumar Sarkar of the village.

Officer-in-Charge Illias Hossain of Sadar Police Station said law enforcers raided the village and arrested Shanto from his house around 3:00am.

On Sunday evening, Shanto entered the 25-year-old victim's house when none of her family members were present and raped her.

Victim's father filed a case with the police station against Shanto the same night, the OC added.
