PBI officials visit site of Noakhali gang-rape with 3 accused

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) officials with three accused in two cases filed over gang-rape of a woman in Noakhali visited the site of the crime today.

The PBI team went to the victim's house in Joykrishnapur village under Eklashpur union of Begumganj around 10:00 am with the three accused -- Badal, Kalam and Saju.

Inspector Mamunur Rashid Patwari, investigating officer in the case filed under Women and Child Repression Prevention Act, was with the team at that moment.

The PBI officials were at the woman's house for about 20 minutes and visited surrounding area.

However, they did not talk to anyone at that time.

Police have been deployed at the victim's house since she was rescued from Maijdi town on the night of October 4. At present, the woman's elderly father, sister and her son are staying there.

Alamgir Hossain, superintendent of police in Noakhali, said the two cases -- filed by the victim under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act -- were handed over to the PBI on Thursday night on the instructions of the police headquarters.

And the rape case filed over the incident will also be handed over to the PBI soon, the SP further said.
