Pay salary, bonus to garments workers before Sep 10: Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today instructed all garments and tannery owners to pay salary and bonus to their workers before September 10 ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha. 

The minister came up with the instruction while holding a meeting with the authorities of garments and tanneries at the conference room of his ministry.

The minister also urged the authorities concerned to grant their workers Eid-ul-Azha leave in alternate phases to avoid traffic jam on the highway.

Chiefs of all the law enforcement agencies were present at the meeting.

There will be 15 watch towers on Dhaka-Tangail highway to provide public security as well as to monitor the situation there, Minister Asaduzzaman told reporters after the meeting. 

Apart from the watch towers, law enforcers will be on guard to provide security at different places including Baitul Mukarram Mosque and 24 sacrificial animal hats in Dhaka.
