Police this morning arrested a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from Patuakhali's Rangabali upazila on charges of threatening and attacking locals.
The arrestee is Ashiqur Rahman Ujjwal, general secretary of Upazila BCL unit, reports our correspondent quoting Ali Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Rangabali Police Station.
He was sent to the Galachipa Judicial Magistrate's Court following arrest, the OC said.
On April 25, Ujjwal along with several others went to the house of local fisherman Sudeb Mandol and called him and his brother-in-law Dhiren Mandol to go out, the OC said quoting Sudeb's father Suren Mandol.
