Pabna AL leader lands in jail

A court here yesterday sent a local Awami League leader and his associate to jail, rejecting their bail prayers in a criminal case.

The accused are Md Korban Ali, president of Ataikula thana unit of AL, and his associate Md Jahangir Hossain.

They surrendered to Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court-4 in the morning and sought bail. Judge Kumar Shipon Madok rejected their bail prayers and sent them to jail, said Court Sub-Inspector Md Borhan.

Ataikula AL leader Abdul Baten Master filed the case with the local police station on Saturday, said OC Md Nure Alam.

According to the case statement, Korban Ali along with his men beat up two sons of Baten Master over taking control of Ataikula Haat on Saturday morning.
