Only 12 people per mosques for Tarabi, Esha prayers

Star Online Report

Only twelve people, including two hafez, will be able to attend the Tarabi and Esha prayers in each mosque during the month of Ramadan, the religious affairs ministry said in a directive this evening.

The ministry's move comes in a bid to prevent possible transmission of the contagious coronavirus.

The religious ministry in its directive also said its earlier instructions on daily and jumma prayers will remain in force.

On April 6, the ministry restricted the number of people offering prayers at mosques, allowing a maximum of five people, comprising the imam, muezzin and other employees of the mosques, to do so.

For Jumma prayers, the number is set to be not more than 10.
