One to die for making fake notes

The Additional District and Sessions Judge's Court in Nilphamari yesterday sentenced a man to death for making fake currency notes.

The death penalty awardee is MA Badsha Dhali, 49, son of late Wahedunnabi of Dhalagachh Munshipara village under Saidpur upazila of the district.

Acting on secret information, law enforcers from Saidpur Police Station raided the rented house of Dhali on July 27, 2014 and arrested him with six fake currency notes of Tk 500. They also seized note making equipment from his possession.

Later, Sub-Inspector MR Sayed pressed charges against Dhali. Judge Md Mahbubul Alam pronounced the verdict after examining the witnesses and the evidence.
