Newborn found dead beside road in Jashore

A newborn boy was found dead in Mulgram area beside Keshabpur-Rajganj road in Jashore's Keshabpur upazila early yesterday. 

Officer in Charge (OC) of Keshabpur Police Station Jasim Uddin said, a woman saw the body wrapped in a packet beside a road in Mulgram area while she was going to collect grass for her cattle and informed the villagers.

Being informed by the villagers, a police  team went to the spot and recovered the body, the OC said.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

During primary investigation they could not ascertain immediately who left the body there.

They were trying to identify the parents of the infant boy, he further said.

A case has been filed with the police station in this regard.
