With just a day remaining till the deadline for submissions of income tax returns for the 2020-21 fiscal year, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) today asked individual taxpayers to clear tax payments through banks by Wednesday as they will remain closed on Thursday.

The tax authority said in a press release that all sorts of banking activities will be closed on December 31 because of a bank holiday, so all submissions of tax returns have to be done by December 30.

The deadline for submission of income tax returns for individual taxpayers was extended by one month on November 30, the original deadline.

The deadline ends on December 31, 2020.
