Missing engineer found floating in Dhaleshwari River

Body of an engineer, who went missing in Buriganga river after falling from a trawler in an accident in Narayanganj’s Fatullah upazila on January 6, was recovered by police this afternoon.

Locals of Lotobdi union under Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj first noticed the floating body of Mehdi Hasan Jisan, 32, in the Dhaleshwari river, reports our Munshiganj correspondent quoting police.

Informed, police officials recovered the body around 1:00pm today, four days after he went missing, and sent it to Munshiganj General Hospital for autopsy, said Md Farid Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station.

Earlier on January 6, Jisan, hailing from Rajshahi, went missing along with another person Likhan after a launch and a trawler collided head-on in Buriganga river while he was returning to Dhaka from Narayanganj on the trawler.

Likhan still remains missing, said police.
