Missing cop murdered

A missing policeman was found murdered in Batara area of Sherpur municipality on Monday morning. The deceased was Rakibul Hasan, 20, constable of the District Police Lines, and son of Shahajahan Mia of Tangail. He went out of the police lines on Sunday night and since then he remained missing, said Md Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station. Informed by locals, police recovered the body from the area the following day. The body bore several injury marks, the OC said, adding that a murder case was filed. Rakibul joined Bangladesh Police last year, said the ASP.
