Missing boy found dead

A minor boy, who went missing a few days ago, was found dead in a water body at Kartikul in Arongghata area of the city yesterday. Quoting witnesses, police said locals spotted the body of Hashmi Mia, 9, son of Hafizur of Sardanga village, kept in a sack in the water body and informed them. Later, police recovered the body around 10:00am and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Nasim Khan, officer-in-charge of Arongghata Police Station, said Hashmi remained missing a few days ago and his father filed a general diary in this connection on Wednesday. However, the reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
