Man who died at isolation ward in Chandpur tests negative for Covid-19
A 33-year-old man, who died in an isolation ward at a hospital in Chandpur on Tuesday, tested negative for coronavirus.
A report on samples of the deceased today confirmed that the patient was not infected with coronavirus, said Dr Sujauddoula Rubel, residential medical officer (RMO) of the hospital.
The man breathed his last at the isolation ward of the 250-bed General Hospital in Chandpur around 7:55am, six hours after he was admitted there with fever and respiratory problems.
Later, the hospital authorities collected samples from the deceased and sent those to the Dhaka Shishu (Children) Hospital for test, said Sujauddoula, also the spokesman of coronavirus affairs of the hospital.
The family members told our correspondent that her husband, who was a furniture shop employee in Dhaka, returned home on March 24.
