Man stabbed dead in B'baria

A supporter of an independent candidate, who won in the upazila election in Nabinagar upazila of Brahmanbaria yesterday, was stabbed to death this evening.

Saidul Islam, 36, was severely stabbed when he took part in a victory rally of independent chairman candidate Md Monirujjaman Moni around 8:00pm in Kurighar village, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting witnesses.

"Saidul was stabbed in his chest by sharp weapon. He died on the way to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital," said Moinul Haq Utpol, a doctor of the hospital.

Four others were injured in the attack. They were undergoing treatment at the hospital, the doctor said.

Officer-in-Charge of Nabinagar Police Station Ronozeet Roy said that he received the report of casualty and injury and some policemen were sent to spot.
