Man murdered in Naogaon, 5 held

Law enforcers recovered the bodies of a murdered man and another missing youth from Naogaon and Kishoreganj districts in the last two days.

Police recovered the body of a man, who went missing four days ago, from Naogaon Sadar upazila yesterday.

They also arrested five people in this connection, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.

The arrestees include Hasan Ali, 38, Sukur Ali, 28, and Shahin Ahmed, 27, Hasna Begum, 31, and Banya Begum, 26.

The deceased is Tunin Sardar, 36, son of Abul Sardar of Shimulia area in the upazila, reports our Dinajpur correspondent. 

Police said Tuhin on Tuesday went out of his house with Tk 20,000 to buy cow from a local market. Since then he remained missing. Later, family members informed the law enforcers about the matter.

On Friday, Sadar police arrested Hasan, Sukur and Shahin of the area. acting Hasan's confessional statement, police recovered the body from his house.

Later, they also arrested the two women in connection with the incident.

During primary interrogation, the five confessed that they took away Tk 20,000 after killing Tuhin.

A murder case was filed in this connection, said OC Zakirul Islam of Naogaon Sadar Police Station.

Away in Kishoreganj, the body of a young man was recovered from a water body in Thaneswar area under Itna upazila of the district on Friday.

The victim is Faruq Miah, 28, son of Ahad Miah of the upazila, reports our Mymensingh correspondent.

Faruq went out of his house on Wednesday noon and did not return since then.

Informed by locals, police recovered the body from the water body on Friday night and sent it to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Faruq might have drowned in the water, said Md Abdul Malek, officer-in-charge of Itna Police Station.
