Man jailed for 10yrs in arms case

A man was jailed for 10 years in arms case in the district yesterday. The convict is Shahidul Islam, 43, son of Abdul Aziz of Waijnagar in Singair upazila. According to the prosecution, locals caught Shahidul with a pistol and four bullets when he along with his accomplices was committing robbery at the house of one Idris Ali of Char-Shyamnagar village in the upazila on July 7, 2012. Later, he was handed over to police. After examining witnesses and evidence, Muhammad Rafiqul Islam, judge of first court of Joint District Judge, found him guilty and pronounced the verdict.
