Man held on rape charge

Police arrested a man on charge of raping his six-year-old niece at Haibatpur Uttarpara village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district yesterday. The arrestee is Selim Barba, 30, son of Rahim Barba of the village. Police said Selim raped the minor girl when she stayed at house alone. Later, the victim's family filed a case with Jessore Kotwali Police Station against Selim in this connection, said Illias Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.
