Man held with firearm

Police arrested a man with a pistol and one bullet from Choudala area in Gomostapur upazila of the district on Monday night.

The arrestee is Sadikul Islam, 45, son of Laksan Islam of Dakkhin Islampur village.

Golam Mortuza, officer-in-charge of Gomostapur Police Station, said on secret information, a police team went to the area and arrested Sadikul with the firearm and bullet.

A case was filed against him under Arms Act, said the OC.
